Duphalac Syrup contains a laxative called lactulose. It makes the stool softer and easier to pass, by drawing water into the bowel. It is not absorbed into the body. It is used to treat constipation (infrequent bowel movements, hard and dry stools.
How to use:
- Adults and adolescents, take 15ml to 45ml daily in a single dose or two divided doses. Once a satisfactory result has been achieved, the dose may be adjusted to 15ml to 30ml daily in a single dose or two divided doses.
- Children 7 to 14 years of age, take 15ml daily in a single dose or two divided doses. Once a satisfactory result has been achieved, the dose may be adjusted to 10ml to 15ml daily in a single dose or two divided doses.
- Children 1 to 6 years of age, take 5ml to 10ml daily in a single dose or two divided doses. Once a satisfactory result has been achieved, the dose may be adjusted to 5ml to 10ml daily in a single dose or two divided doses.
- Infants under one year of age, take up to 5ml daily in a single dose or two divided doses. Once a satisfactory result has been achieved, the dose may be adjusted up to a maximum of 5ml daily in a single dose or two divided doses.
